Q: Hi, i’d like to know more about this product Electric Bike Motor Brushless Gear Hub 48V 52V 400W 500W freewheel Cassette
1) What is the reduction ratio for the planetary gears?
2) Do you have a power graph for this hub motor?
3) What MM laminations? 0.35mm? 0.27mm?

A: 1) 1 : 4.6
2) We don’t have power graph. But if need, please tell us what max rpm of this hub motor. We can make bike motor and test it on machine.

Q: I appreciate your offer for a power graph, that would be very helpful.
The best winding to test is one that runs at 40km/h in a 26″ wheel @ 48v on the road. Maybe that is the 370 RPM winding mentioned on your website. ( 40kmh on 26″ = ~320RPM )
Usually this will result in 500-600W load; i think the hub motor can handle it if it’s very efficient.
If you think it can handle more power than that, it’s OK to test a faster winding, it would be good to see the maximum of what it can handle.

It looks like on 48v, this could run 700w for a long time which is great because this is close to the power used at 45kmh legal USA power limit.
I think like with the leaf 1500w you rate this bike motor too low, on 48v i think this bike motor at 600w is making only 90w of heat which the small hub motor can sustain. Maybe it can sustain 110w of heat and i am being conservative to think of it as a 600w motor.

It’s a pretty good bike motor.

To help your sales i think it would help to post a picture of the cassette model ( most people in USA want this ) and post the 48v on the web page, but check the speed column in the spreadsheet, i’m not sure if you used a different, but it looks like it is reversed compared to other graphs you posted.

Q: We received two parcels. Finally managed to get it all working. the lcd display does not go over 10 mph ? can you think why

A:Do you make you motor “reverse”? If you make the three button switch to be “R”, motor will be reverse, the speed is slow. Make to “L”, motor will be forward.

Q: I have disconnected the three button switch and now seems to be working. the display when the bike is in use does not go above 10 mph. does the display after you have set the mph/kmh mean ? It says p1, p2,p3.p4 and p5. what are the correct settings for these ?

Your bike can reach 40 mph without load,we test it.Even if you ride,still can reach about 35mph.
Please set the wheel size to be “26”
* Power on,turn on LCD,then press “up” and “down” button for 2 second together.
1. Then max speed will flashing. Make it to be max 72kmh.
2. Then “kmh or mph” will flashing.Press “up” or “down” to shift from “kmh” to “mph”.Then press “ON /in the middle of button” to done setting.
3. Then “wheel size,8,10,12,14,16,18,22,24,26,700 or 28” will flashing.Press “up” or “down” to shift.Make it to be “26” Then press “ON /in the middle of button” to done setting.

After setting these 1,2,3. Then press “ON /in the middle of button” for 2 second.It will save these setting.

E-bike Not work – electric controller issue or hub motor?

Riding an electric bike is a funny thing.Sometimes,while riding happily,it stop working and can’t re-start.
If you think your lithium battery is new,can’t cause this issue.Now you should check controller or bike motor,how to check?

If you have volt meter,you could measure as below? So that you can make sure the problem comes from controller or motor
If you can get the same data as below 1, that means controller’s everything is good
If you can’t get the same data as below 2,some hall senor has problem.

1. Connect all wires,power on.Just disconnect that white big plug with five wires( yellow,blue,green,red,black)
Then measure controller’s hall sensor:
* The voltage of red and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of yellow and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of blue and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of green and black is about 5.0V
