Q: I’m interested in leaf product of New 26 inch 48V / 52V 1000W electric bike kit (Item ID #LBCK26481000FN), and having some question as below.

1. Does the bike conversion kit already include regen function?
2. Is it possible to have a demonstration YouTube video to show me the E-ABS regen feature?

3. Do you have magnetic switch instead of Item ID #LBP002BL braking lever, because my current braking lever is an All in one type ?
4. As everyone knows the transportation cost is very high, if I can arrange the rim by myself from USA, can I modify order as following to reduce some transportation cost?
I want to make sure everything is the same as #LBCK26481000FN bike conversion kit besides 26 x 1.95 inch rim. (The hub motor, controller, LCD display, braking lever, three button switch, throttle etc…)

Q: My both brake levers are all in one type, so if I replace any one of them, I’ll lost front or rear gear shift function. I tried to calculate the total price by your leaf bike site. About the max. speed limit setting by LCD display, we can adjust any speed as we want, or only three setting mode can be choose?

A: This 48V New LCD is different from that old LCD, this new can set Max speed:(0 – 73kmh) any you want. That old LCD only set three speed mode.

Q: I always ride a route which includes a lot of up and down hills, the longest one is a continuity down hill for 2 km. It’s a 7% downhill, if you don’t use brake to reduce speed, the bike speed will be up over 45km/hr, so I always use brake to control speed within a safety area( within 30km/hr), but after through the downhill, the rim become very hot, it very bad situation. That’s one of many reasons that I want to put a bike conversion kit with regen braking function in my Bike. According my description as above, is your electric bike kit suitable in this case?

A: When you brake, the power will cut off. It’s easy to stop when you down hill. You will get new version of LCD display.

BLDC motor (DC Motor) benefits in the speed control is relatively simple terms, the size of the control voltage only has control of speed, but the motor should not be in such high temperature, flammable and other operating environments, and because of the need to brush motor As a current converter (Commutator) components (brush motor), so they need regular cleaning of the friction generated by carbon brushes dirt. The brushless motor as compared to a brush, brushless motor because less carbon brush and shaft friction so more energy is relatively quiet. Made more difficult, the price is higher. bldc motor controller (AC Motor) can at high temperature, flammable and other operating environments, and do not regularly clean up the brush of the dirt, but in the more difficult to control speed, because speed control bldc motor controller must control the frequency of alternating current (or use of induction motors, with the increase in internal resistance in a manner that the same lower frequency AC motor speed), control the voltage will only affect the motor torque. General civil motor voltage 110V and 220V and other two, in industrial applications as well such as 380V or 440V type.

1) What is the reduction ratio for the planetary gears?
2) Do you have a power graph for this hub motor?
3) What MM laminations? 0.35mm? 0.27mm?

A: 1) 1 : 4.6
2) We don’t have power graph. But if need, please tell us what max rpm of this hub motor. We can make bike motor and test it on machine.

Q: I appreciate your offer for a power graph, that would be very helpful.
The best winding to test is one that runs at 40km/h in a 26″ wheel @ 48v on the road. Maybe that is the 370 RPM winding mentioned on your website. ( 40kmh on 26″ = ~320RPM )
Usually this will result in 500-600W load; i think the hub motor can handle it if it’s very efficient.
If you think it can handle more power than that, it’s OK to test a faster winding, it would be good to see the maximum of what it can handle.

It looks like on 48v, this could run 700w for a long time which is great because this is close to the power used at 45kmh legal USA power limit.
I think like with the leaf 1500w you rate this bike motor too low, on 48v i think this bike motor at 600w is making only 90w of heat which the small hub motor can sustain. Maybe it can sustain 110w of heat and i am being conservative to think of it as a 600w motor.

It’s a pretty good bike motor.

To help your sales i think it would help to post a picture of the cassette model ( most people in USA want this ) and post the 48v on the web page, but check the speed column in the spreadsheet, i’m not sure if you used a different, but it looks like it is reversed compared to other graphs you posted.

Q: We received two parcels. Finally managed to get it all working. the lcd display does not go over 10 mph ? can you think why

A:Do you make you motor “reverse”? If you make the three button switch to be “R”, motor will be reverse, the speed is slow. Make to “L”, motor will be forward.

Q: I have disconnected the three button switch and now seems to be working. the display when the bike is in use does not go above 10 mph. does the display after you have set the mph/kmh mean ? It says p1, p2,p3.p4 and p5. what are the correct settings for these ?

Your bike can reach 40 mph without load,we test it.Even if you ride,still can reach about 35mph.
Please set the wheel size to be “26”
* Power on,turn on LCD,then press “up” and “down” button for 2 second together.
1. Then max speed will flashing. Make it to be max 72kmh.
2. Then “kmh or mph” will flashing.Press “up” or “down” to shift from “kmh” to “mph”.Then press “ON /in the middle of button” to done setting.
3. Then “wheel size,8,10,12,14,16,18,22,24,26,700 or 28” will flashing.Press “up” or “down” to shift.Make it to be “26” Then press “ON /in the middle of button” to done setting.

After setting these 1,2,3. Then press “ON /in the middle of button” for 2 second.It will save these setting.

Try it again.
